About Me
I love my work as a Social Worker, and am both passionate and dedicated to my work. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from McGill University. I have 27 years of professional social work experience. Through my work experience, I developed resources in the community in mental health, family support and parenting programs.
In addition, I have gained valuable clinical experience in counselling individuals, couples and families in crisis intervention, mental health, suicide prevention and intervention, grief, trauma and post-trauma, relationship issues and addictions. I have worked in Montreal, Quebec, Inukjuak, Quebec in Nunavik and Kincardine, Ontario.
I have worked with children, teens and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, intellectual challenges and mental health problems. I have worked with adults dealing with issues of parenting, couples issues, abuse and loss. I have experience working with doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, police, schools and government officials. I specialize in suicide prevention, trauma and post-trauma, stress management, overcoming depression and anxiety and relationship issues. I am trained in EMDR therapy and am an Internationally Certified EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant with EMDRIA. I assist in Basic EMDR Trainings with Dr. Amanda Bell.
I acknowledge that I reside gratefully on the Territory of the Anishinabek Nation: The people of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomie Nations. The Chipewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as The Saugeen Ojibway Nation. I grew up in Kincardine, Ontario, and have moved back in the Fall of 2010 to start a private practice in social work. I love Kincardine, and am dedicated to the community and surrounding communities to offer my social work services in order to improve the lives of others.
CONFIDENTIAL. TRUSTWORTHY. PEACEFUL.
